Landmark Americana Takes 6,900 SF at Drexel

Landmark Americana, a multi faceted restaurant and bar, has leased approximately 6,900 square feet of restaurant space at the new, soon-to-be completed, recreation center at the Daskalakis Athletic Center, located on the Drexel University Campus at 34th and Market Streets in Philadelphia.
Phil Earley, a principle of Lieberman Earley & Company in Wayne, PA., and Larry Zullinger, an associate broker, represented the tenant, Landmark University City, LLC, while James Egan of the Grubb and Ellis Company in Philadelphia, PA, and Tim Arizin of Beacon Commercial Real Estate of Conshohocken, PA, assisted Drexel University in this transaction.
The aggregate rental of the lease was in excess of $2,350,000.
Landmark Americana is a privately owned and operated restaurant establishment that "bases their concept of the restaurants predicated on taking the generic sports bar theme and elevating it. Our goal is to provide all the fun and excitement of a sports bar along with high quality food and service", according to David Goldman, a partner in Landmark Americana. They currently have two locations, the first was opened six years ago in Glassboro, NJ and the second opened two years ago in the Borough of West Chester, PA.
Both are situated in towns with a large community of college students which is why the Drexel University location fits. The restaurant is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2010.
According to James Tucker, Senior Vice President of Drexel University, "Landmark Americana comes to Drexel University with a reputation of running a quality food service operation and being respectful to the communities in which they operate. We welcome them to University City and know they will play an integral part in the continuous enhancements being made to the Market Street western Corridor."
