Team Capital Bank Branch in Allentown Wins 2009 SARA Award

The Team Capital Bank office at 4285 West Tilghman Street in Allentown, Pennsylvania has been honored with a Special Recognition by the Pennsylvania Council of SARA (Society of American Registered Architects) at its 6th Annual Professional Design Awards Banquet.

J.G. Petrucci Co., Inc. (JGPCO) and Cerminara Architect of Hillsborough, New Jersey were responsible for the design and construction of the 2,400 square foot office, which is one of six JGPCO has completed or has under construction for Team Capital Bank in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

The 4285 West Tilghman Street project involved the complete renovation of an existing building at the location.  A key part of the project was the removal of a section of the former structure’s foundation, allowing for the addition of a drive-thru lane.  In addition, all the former walls were demolished, enabling the new structure to be built upon the existing foundation.

The 4285 West Tilghman Street office is the second Team Capital Bank retail branch designed and built by the JGPCO and Cerminara team to win an award.  In 2008, the 1901 Hamilton Street branch in Allentown was named a winner in the Independent Community Banker Architectural (ICBA) Showcase, one of only five projects selected from entries submitted by banks throughout the country.

To reflect Team Capital Bank’s focus on providing a high level of personal service, the space was designed to be warm and inviting.  Design elements included such things as a main lobby with high ceilings and tall windows, creating a bright, open feel; stacked stone accents, warm colors and accent lighting that enhance the welcoming atmosphere; and the Bank’s signature curved soffit over the Personal Banking Officer stations, which  both increase the sense of privacy and help guide patrons through the space.
