Philadelphia Personal Injury Attorney Evan Liu Appointed to Pennsylvania Bar Association Minority Bar Committee

Attorney Evan Y. Liu, M.D., J.D. of the Philadelphia personal injury law firm Feldman, Shepherd, Wohlgelernter, Tanner, Weinstock & Dodig has been appointed to the Pennsylvania Bar Association's (PBA) Minority Bar Committee. The Minority Bar Committee is charged with assuring full and equal participation of minorities in the PA Bar Association, the legal profession and the broader justice system. Dr. Liu, who practiced emergency medicine for 15 years prior to his legal career, is also slated to serve as a planner for the health law/health care panel discussion at the PBA's upcoming annual Minority Attorney Conference. The conference is scheduled for March 18 and 19, 2010. The Minority Attorney Conference offers continuing legal education programming, and recognizes outstanding Pennsylvania minority lawyers for their contributions to the legal profession and their communities.

"I am honored that PBA President Clifford Haines has appointed me to the Minority Bar Committee," stated Dr. Liu. "Committees such as this serve as crucial vehicles for bettering the legal profession. I look forward to promoting minorities in the legal profession through the work of the Minority Bar Committee."

Dr. Liu also serves as co-chair of the Community Outreach Committee of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Pennsylvania. He is an active member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice (formerly the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association), the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association. A graduate of Widener University School of Law, Dr. Liu is a frequent guest lecturer there. He concentrates his practice in medical malpractice and product liability.

Prior to being admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Dr. Liu was a board certified family practitioner, the assistant director of Delaware County Memorial Hospital's emergency department and a clinical assistant professor of emergency medicine at Hahnemann University Hospital.
