Free "Business to Business" Expo Planned for Philly
Walmart and Sam's Club Partner With Philadelphia Chamber and Minority Supplier Development Council to Host Forum for Local Businesses
Philadelphia, PA -- September 1, 2009 -- Walmart Stores and Sam's Club, in partnership with the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and Minority Supplier Development Council PA-NJ-DE, will provide insight on how to do business with Walmart Stores on the local, regional and national levels at a FREE Business to Business Expo on September 22, 2009 at The Downtown Marriott in Philadelphia. Event registration begins at 9 AM.
Local business operators and entrepreneurs will have the chance to meet representatives from the local and regional Walmart management teams and get information on how to become minority or women-owned certified businesses. The opportunity to introduce products and services to Walmart buyers will also be available and participants will be walked through the appropriate steps to apply as a vendor.
Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter will serve as the event's keynote speaker and The Walmart Foundation will present a $50,000 grant to the Urban League of Philadelphia in support of its workforce development initiatives.
