Roseland, NJ -- Lowenstein Sandler PC is proud to announce that Miguel Alexander Pozo, Esq., Member of the Firm, has been selected as National Finance Director for the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA), for a one-year term beginning in September 2011.

Miguel, who is the Immediate Past President of the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey (HBA-NJ), "is a proven leader at our Firm, in the legal profession and in our community," said Gary Wingens, Chairman and CEO of Lowenstein Sandler. "We are excited that he is taking on this important leadership position and are proud that he is also representing Lowenstein Sandler in his work to advocate and promote the advancement of minorities and women in the legal profession."

Miguel recently completed his fourth year as the HNBA Regional President for New Jersey and assumed his new national role during the HNBA's Annual Convention in Dallas, Texas, which took place from August 31 - September 3, 2011. As National Finance Director, Miguel will chair the National Finance Committee and lead a team of professionals from across the country. The National Finance Committee is charged with maintaining contact with the HNBA's supporters and sponsors and is responsible for ensuring the financial viability and sustainability of the HNBA.

Miguel also serves as Chair for the upcoming 2012 HNBA Corporate Counsel Conference and 17th Annual Uvaldo Herrera National Moot Court Competition, which for the first time will take place in New Jersey. The Midyear Conference is entitled "New Jersey: Gateway to America," and will be held at the Westin Newport in Jersey City, New Jersey, from March 28 - 31, 2012.

Miguel is a homegrown partner and a member of Lowenstein Sandler's Litigation Department. He is a brand lawyer and business litigator who specializes in representing clients in the high-end, luxury goods industry. He also has more than 13 years of experience representing Fortune 500 corporations, businesses, and non-profit organizations in federal and state court litigation.

Most recently, he has counseled clients on trademark and brand protection issues, business torts, contract disputes, employment litigation, and consumer fraud class actions.

Miguel's work in the legal profession and in his community has earned him numerous honors and distinctions, including two "Forty Under 40" awards in 2009 awarded by the New Jersey Law Journal and NJBiz magazine. Miguel was also included on Latin Trends magazine's 2009 "Latino Trendsetters" list. He has also received the Boy Scouts of America's "Scouting...Vale La Pena!" award, as well as Essence magazine's 2008 "Do Right Man" award, which recognized 50 men from across the country for their achievements and commitment to community service.

Miguel earned his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law - Newark, where he was Managing Editor of Rutgers Race and the Law Review, and his B.A. from Hofstra University.
